Ultimate FAQ on Gas Toyan V8 Engine FS-V800G Small Block V8 Kits | Stirlingkit
November 25, 20241 Seems kinda odd that it appears to be a gasoline engine having a distributor but the oil pan has a low mounted vent nipple like a nitro glow engine. Does it have a oiling system for the internals ?
A1: The Toyan V8 Gasoline-Powered Engine brings significant upgrades, combining performance with ease of use. Retaining the mixed oil lubrication system of its nitro predecessor, it now features enhanced oil seals to minimize leaks and a vented oil pan for cleaner exhaust and waste oil discharge. The outdated suspended double distributor has been replaced with a contact single distributor, offering easier adjustments, standardized wiring, and stable performance tailored for V8 CDI systems. These improvements address past challenges like cylinder imbalance, flashover, and setup complexity, making the new Toyan V8 a cleaner, more reliable, and user-friendly model.
2. Too expensive for the history of this product line. I will be passing.
Sexy looking, looks alot like the big block chevy, only thing off is the location of the distributor….its on the right location for a big block hemi…except the plugs are in the wrong spot…everything is right for a big block ford, but who would admit to wanting a ford….lol, but it does look good!!
A2: The Toyan V8 Engine is a great choice for its price and features, costing 50% less than the previous Toyan Gas V8 model while offering better design and performance. Inspired by classic small-block V8 engines, it has a front-mounted distributor that saves space, makes maintenance easier, and works well in smaller models like RC cars and boats. This design also improves cooling and gives the engine a fresh, modern look. If you’re on a budget, the Semto L2 Engine is a more affordable option that still delivers excellent performance.

9. Is there a dyno sheet? Durability testing? How hard is it to mount in, say, a Rovan Baja? Why are they not sold with the full ignition system in the box? I honestly like that last question. It’s useless as anything but a doorstop without support hardware. Mmmhm. Even my solution of 'throw 8 OS G5 glow plugs in it and run it like a glow engine' requires spending additional money beyond the initial purchase even if it's less than what they charge for the CDI system.
A9: Dyno and durability tests have been conducted on the Toyan V8 engine, but videos are yet to be published. Installation in a Rovan Baja car depends on your DIY skills, and we offer accessories like ignition and cooling systems separately to suit individual needs.

14. The videos shows a different carburetor used that what's shown to be sold . Why is that? Will it be sold with the carburetor in the videos or the original one used in previous version? The crankcase vent appears to be suitable for Nitro and not retaining the oil for gasoline use . Is there going to be redesign for it to ensure no damage to the ensure during operation?
A14: The Toyan V8 in the video features a prototype carburetor. The production version uses an upgraded carburetor design, which matches the product photos and ensures better performance.
15. Why is the distributor on the front in the Toyan V8 engine?
A15:The placement of the distributor in the Toyan V8 is a result of thoughtful design considerations:
1. Inspired by Classic, not a full replica:
While the Toyan V8 incorporates design elements inspired by Classic iconic small block V8 engines, it is not a 1:1 scale replica. Instead, it blends Classic influences with Toyan's original and signature design style.
2. Combining design traits:
Traditionally, some car brand's 's V8 engines have front-mounted distributors, whereas other car brand's are positioned at the rear. The Toyan V8 merges these features to create a unique engine model that reflects versatility and innovation.
3. Size and structural limitations:
Miniature engines like the Toyan V8 are constrained by their scale. To achieve optimal performance, a great sound profile, and premium craftsmanship, compromises are necessary. Designing a fully accurate front-mounted distributor like the original proptype V8 would require increasing the model's scale from 1/10 to 1/4, which would significantly alter its purpose and accessibility.
16. Does it have an oil pump that works?
A16: The Toyan V8 features a mechanical pump for operation but does not include an independent oil pump. An external oil pump may be offered in the future for DIY upgrades.
17. Why don’t they make a decent sized v8 of around 120cc something that can actually be used and put some sort of a load on it as opposed to sounding like a buzz bomb
A17: The Toyan V8 is designed as a miniature engine model, focusing on accessibility and educational value. Larger engines would increase costs and present safety concerns. In the future, we may develop large-scale V8 engines for exhibitions or offline events.
18. Will you offer other colors ? I would like Sliver / Aluminum finish instead of the Black Crankcase with Red Valve Covers ...
