September 05, 2024Brandon of the YouTube channel "Just Plain Crazy" encourages children to learn hands-on skills by sharing a 3D printed TR900 turbofan engine model that he received from StirlingKits.
Brandon's previous channel content is jet aircraft. This is the first time to test the TR900 turbofan engine model, but he said: I have to jump in, and the reason for doing this is because it involves our hands and our minds, and it involves the impact on our youth. It's important for our daily lives.
How do you do this? How do you learn how to do this? How do we learn to do this? Brandon responded:
When I was a kid we had to learn how to use our hands in our heads and figure out you had to go to something called an encyclopedia or you had to say we didn’t have phone access it was hard to figure out how they practiced those skills today in today’s modern society we call it STEM science technology engineering and math
I have taught kids about aviation about cars, automotive fields and car repair but this is a way to get kids involved in taking things apart and putting them back together and looking at this kit just one glance to see all the different parts and screws and other things like that deft hand eye coordination to follow the instructions and at the end you get this really cool model. Their model is motorized and we can see the work and understand how Airbus utilizes this engine inside so guys don’t have to get off the couch any further to drag the kids
While some of the terminology in the instructions can be challenging for beginners, the accompanying pictures are helpful. Get involved, not just assembling the model but also encouraging kids to learn hands-on skills.
He shared his own experience as a hands-on learner, I thrive in an environment where I can actively engage with materials, not a traditional classroom setting. On the importance of hands-on learning, he believes that hands-on learning is essential for personal development and understanding the world.
Brandon concluded by expressing his hope that these kits will inspire a new generation to participate in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) fields, just as he was inspired when he was young.
