Important: Tax ID Required for Express Shipments to the U.S. (Effective Feb 5, 2025)

Dear Valued Customer,

We would like to inform you of an important update regarding U.S. Customs regulations for express shipments.

What’s Changing?

Starting February 5, 2025, U.S. Customs will require a Tax ID (Social Security Number (SSN) or Employer Identification Number (EIN)) for all express shipments (such as DHL, FedEx, UPS, etc.) from China (including Hong Kong) to the United States.

Who Does This Affect?

Applies to: Orders shipped via express courier (DHL, FedEx, UPS, etc.)
Does NOT apply to: Standard postal services (e.g., China Post, USPS, ePacket)

What You Need to Do:

If you have an order shipping via express courier, please provide your SSN or EIN before shipment to avoid customs delays or returns.

U.S. Tax ID Formats (SSN & EIN)

When providing a Tax ID (Social Security Number (SSN) or Employer Identification Number (EIN)) for customs clearance, please ensure it follows the correct format:

1️⃣ Social Security Number (SSN) – For individuals

  • Format: XXX-XX-XXXX (9 digits, separated into 3-2-4 format)
  • Example: 123-45-6789

2️⃣ Employer Identification Number (EIN) – For businesses

  • Format: XX-XXXXXXX (9 digits, separated into 2-7 format)
  • Example: 12-3456789

💡 Additional Notes:

  • ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number) follows the same format as SSN (9XX-XX-XXXX) and is used by non-U.S. residents for tax purposes.
  • SSN or EIN is usually required for customs clearance, especially for express shipments (DHL, FedEx, UPS).

Privacy & Security Assurance:

We understand that this is sensitive information. Please be assured that your Tax ID will only be used for customs clearance and handled with strict security measures.
